You may have come across someone who doesn’t speak during meetings. Maybe you don’t even know what this person’s voice sound like. You have no idea what he/she thinks about any topic. So, what can be done to try and change this? Most of the responsibility of bringing about a change probably rests with the Chair. Below are some strategies which can be tried
1. Ask a direct question, something like,”What do you think of this option?”
2. Give him/her a task. The expectation would be that he/she will report back. Try and choose a task the person feels passionate about.
